European Commission, CEN and CENELEC release ventilation standard
The new CEN standard focuses on ventilation for buildings, setting new rules and requirements for indoor environmental parameters for thermal environment, indoor air quality, lighting and acoustics. The new CEN standard also explains how to use these parameters for building system design and energy performance calculations.
Increased benefits
EN 16798-1:2019 provides criteria to be used in standard energy calculations for indoor environments meant for human consumption. It aims to improve both the environment and the wellbeing of people.
Flexible design methods
The new CEN standard allows manufacturers to provide their own design methods based upon precise and up-to-date criteria to guide building system design and energy performance calculations. This way, the efficiency of European buildings will increase offering more comfort to all Europeans.
